Snow

Frozen whites that fall
from what heavens may or may not
exist above the Earth.
Blue in the morning
as the sun slowly rises
causing the icy coating to glare
and melt all day
in the cold December sun.
Gloriously it reflects
the evening's purples
and reds
and pinks.
The world is made that much brighter
after it is dark.
Cold days made warmer
with spice teas and cocoa,
or colder with eggnog
and orange juice in the morning
to keep me from getting sick.
And at night smoke billows from chimneys
just like it has all day.
